If you want to see the river from the best vantage points then you can take an afternoon on Sailing Barge Victor. www.sbvictor.co.uk

In September 2008 a two-metre high 130 metre long fence was erected across the historic public quay at Mistley. It is designed to block access to and from the River Stour and ends 500 years of free access to the water.
Free the Quay was set up and is run by local volunteers to have the fence removed. We have a donation box at the café which the money goes towards. www.freethequay.org
